Mammoths will be making their way into the Corinium Museum as part of a special free exhibition of finds from the Mammoth Graveyard in Cerney Wick. The discovery of the graveyard, which was the focus of a special BBC television programme with Sir David Attenborough in 2022, was made by Sally Hollingworth and her husband Neville. There are finds on display from the 2017 dig at the site well as new finds from the site uncovered in 2024. They include a Plesiosaur, a Marine Crocodile Skull and Ammonites, as well as Mammoth Teeth and a Tooth from a Straight-Tusked Elephant, among others. Children’s illustrator Sally Poyton will be creating a special Mammoth Family Trail for the museum.
